Carpool from Yaba to Marina and Lagos Island

For people who work on the Marina, Broad Street and around CMS, not VI. When rides start, you’ll share the drive from Yaba to Lagos Island with verified professionals. The waitlist is open and pickup points are being set up.

Yaba to Marina / Lagos Island

via Third Mainland Bridge or Eko Bridge

The road: a short hop that isn’t

The Island is closer to Yaba than VI is, and that’s the trap: it looks like a short hop until you remember Carter Bridge is shut, so everyone is on Third Mainland or Eko Bridge coming down onto Lagos Island. Then there’s parking: on the Marina, a space is its own search.

A carpool helps both ways. Riders aren’t paying for a whole car to cross the bridge, and the driver’s car carries three or four people to work, which is one parking space instead of several.

Pickups and drop-offs: being set up

Points on this route are still being set up: pickups at landmarks Yaba already uses on the way to the bridge, and drop-offs on Lagos Island. Likely places include:

  1. Sabo
  2. Yabatech, Herbert Macaulay Way
  3. Alagomeji
  4. CMSDrop-off
  5. The MarinaDrop-off
  6. Broad StreetDrop-off

These aren’t final or in road order yet. Tell us where you work when you join: it helps decide where the drop-offs go.

Morning and evening times

Morning pickups are planned for 6:45 to 7:45 am. Heading home, cars will leave the Island between 5:00 and 7:00 pm. You choose the time you usually leave when you join, and rides will only run between 5:00 am and 10:00 pm.

We’ll add typical journey times for this route once the points are set and the first drivers have timed it.

Every ride will be confirmed ahead: morning rides the evening before, rides home by 4:30 pm on the day. If someone can’t make it, Simbi, Ganusii’s WhatsApp assistant, will offer the seat to someone else on the route or tell everyone who is riding.

Solo ride-hail, Yaba to Marina, weekday morning

Being checked

We’re checking what a solo Bolt or Uber from Yaba to the Marina costs on a weekday morning, and will post the range here with the month.

Until then, price your own trip in Bolt or Uber at the time you usually leave. That’s the same guide Ganusii will show when you and your driver agree a fare.

How the fare is agreed

There’s no set Ganusii price during the pilot. Today’s solo ride-hail fare for the same trip is the guide. How fares work

  1. Your offer

What you’d pay for a seat, one way.

  2. Your driver’s ask

What they’d accept for a seat, one way.

  3. Agreed fare

Everyone in the car pays the same, directly to the driver after each ride.

Verified people, and HELP on every ride

In an emergency, call 112 or 767 (Lagos emergency) first. Ganusii is not an emergency service. When you can, message HELP so the team knows.

Everyone will show a government-issued ID, take a live photo and confirm a work email before they ride; drivers also share their licence and vehicle details. When rides start, you can message HELP on any ride to report a safety concern or a car or trip issue, and the Ganusii team watches HELP from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm. Trust and safety in full
